Fenris Creations has introduced Cradle of War, a new expansion for the long-running sci-fi MMO EVE Online. The expansion is set to release on June 9, 2026, and brings a range of systems focused on large-scale conflicts among empires, new ships, a beginner space without PvP, and additional missions based on significant events from the history of New Eden.
Cradle of War marks the beginning of the Theatres of War saga, envisioned as a three-part series of expansions dedicated to the development of large-scale warfare. The central novelty is military campaigns, a system that connects player activities into structured conflicts across multiple locations. These will involve not only combat pilots but also industrialists, transporters, researchers, logisticians, and coordinators, thereby directly incorporating various play styles into the war effort.
The expansion introduces eight new space ships. Among them are four new Navy Destroyers, designed for quicker entry into faction warfare, and four new Tech II command carriers, intended as powerful support for fleets through command bonuses, support fighters, and battlefield control.
For new players, the new beginner space without PvP is especially important, where rookie capsuleers can learn the basics of the game, train alongside other beginners, and gradually prepare for the more dangerous parts of New Eden. Cradle of War also brings new Epic Arc missions, which guide players through simulations of key historical battles of each of the four empires, including Caldari Prime Breakout, Battle of Pator, Liberation of Intaki, and Golgothan Fields.
The game will also feature a system of titles and achievements. Achievements will track player activities across New Eden, while unlocked titles will display their play style, reputation, and contribution to current conflicts. Fenris Creations announces that in the weeks following the expansion's release, they will share additional details about the continuation of the Theatres of War saga.
