What's new
Pocket Micro 2 comes with a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 960 × 640 and a Snapdragon 865 processor, which AYANEO claims delivers significantly better performance than the previous generation. The device also has a 3950 mAh battery, which is considerably more than the 2600 mAh in the previous model.
Additionally, it features a larger D-pad and ABXY buttons, as well as recessed dual analog sticks. AYANEO has also changed the layout and height of the upper buttons to make them easier to distinguish by touch.
Prices and versions
The model will be offered in 6 GB/128 GB and 8 GB/256 GB versions, in Midnight Black and Frosty White colors, while the special Stardust Purple edition is reserved for the stronger configuration. The starting price for the 6 GB/128 GB version is $269, while the price for the 8 GB/256 GB version is $309, and the limited edition will cost $339, with a $30 discount on all variants for early buyers.
The device also retains a microSD slot and a 3.5mm headphone jack, and comes with Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. According to available information, sales are limited, so the initial stock was small.
Pocket Micro 2 thus continues the philosophy of the original, but with a serious hardware leap and a more modern control solution, making it a logical upgrade for fans of retro handheld consoles.
