Coming soon to all Xbox console owners.

Microsoft has announced a new wave of Xbox console features that selected members of the Xbox Insider program can test starting today. The update brings a refreshed console boot experience, new Gamerscore badges, and expanded filters in the game library.

The first visible change relates to the new boot up experience. Xbox consoles will receive a new animation and sound upon startup, along with a new Xbox logo and the recognizable green color. The idea is to create a fresher and more modern impression right from the moment the console is turned on.

The second novelty is tiered Gamerscore badges, which display the player's total Gamerscore. These will appear on the profile and in the Guide menu, and will change as the player collects more points through achievements. With this, Xbox aims to further highlight the long-term progress and gaming history of each user.

Microsoft is also introducing more practical filters in the game library. The new system is expected to clearly show which games the player actually owns, which are shared with them, and which installed titles remain unavailable. This could particularly help users who frequently switch between multiple consoles or use different accounts and shared libraries.

These features are not yet available to all users. Microsoft is first testing them with selected Xbox Insiders, after which they will gradually expand to a larger number of testers. Wider availability for all players is planned for later.
