Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the leading naval multiplayer game World of Warships, is celebrating the 250th anniversary of American Independence Day with a wealth of new content as part of update 15.5. Players will be greeted by a new New York harbor themed around Independence Day upon logging in. They will find themed content, including a new narrative campaign and a Combat Pass full of special camouflage, ships, enemy destruction effects, and much more. With the arrival of "stickers," a new level of ship customization is unlocked, and other changes and improvements are on the table.
Completely New Narrative Campaign Dawn of the Nation
The main theme of the update is Dawn of the Nation, a completely new narrative campaign with four unique chapters exploring the history of the Thirteen Colonies and their path to independence. A new chapter unlocks weekly, and players progressing through the story over the next month will earn valuable themed rewards, including the American historical captains John Glover and John Paul Jones, the Betsy Ross flag, the American premium cruiser tier VIII Congress, as well as new enemy destruction effects and a special permanent camouflage for tier X ships. Progress tokens can also be earned through activities, by awarding Dawn of the Nation containers that offer parts of the themed historical collection of the campaign and awarding the rare Minuteman camouflage for the super ship Maine.
Celebrate 250 Years of American Independence with the Special Action Pass
The celebrations continue with the Action Pass 250 Years of Independence, which offers a wealth of content as rewards to complement players' American fleets across two progression lines. The first progression line, open to all players, includes the captain Liberty Bell with individual narration, the permanent camouflage Stars and Stripes, an Artillery Chest, and the permanent camouflage Freedom for Baltimore as the final reward. For 2500 doubloons, players can unlock the second progression line and work towards the permanent camouflage "Revolutionary," the American premium battleship Arizona, the new permanent camouflage "Old North State" for North Carolina, and the new enemy destruction effect "Thirteen Salvos" as the final reward. The permanent camouflage "Onward, Navy!" for Helena is also available as a bonus reward.
Dive Deeper into Ship Customization with New Stickers
Update 15.5 introduces "stickers" - a new customization feature available through special containers for combat tasks. Stickers unlock deeper ship personalization, allowing players to add historically inspired symbols, mottos, and other artwork to the hulls of tier IX ships. This feature will expand to more tiers in future updates.
Italian Submarines, Secret Mapping, and More
Italian submarines Pietro Micca and Pietro Calvi remain available in early access as part of this update, giving players the opportunity to experiment with unique smoke generator exhausts that are native to these invisible ships and the Italian tech tree. These submarines are armed with main guns that fire AP shells, complemented by improved consumables for the main battery reload booster to facilitate powerful attacks on unsuspecting enemies.
Improvements to secret mapping in the game have also been implemented, season 34 of clan battles and three new brawls will provide players with more opportunities to showcase their skills, and the new rare level X battleship, Sete de Setembro, is docking in the armory.
