Gothic 1 Remake has made a strong start in the market, selling over 500,000 copies on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in its first week. Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic confirmed that the game reached nearly 78,000 concurrent players on Steam as of June 7, 2026, while over 15,000 user reviews resulted in a “Very Positive” rating with 85 percent positive impressions.
This is a complete overhaul of the cult RPG from 2001, where players once again take on the role of the Nameless Hero within the mining colony of Khorinis. The remake features modernized combat, a revamped living world, over 50 hours of gameplay, and the option to align with one of three factions, while the studio announces that it will continue to support and improve the game in the coming weeks and months.
