The independent studio Nextale Games has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Calame, a single-player isometric tactical RPG that will arrive on PC via Steam in the fall of 2026. Console versions are planned for 2027, and players can already try out a free demo on Steam. The story will be set in the fractured kingdom of Westalia, where players will lead a rebellion against the tyrannical King of Light.
Calame will be based on turn-based combat, unit positioning, line of sight, class synergies, and party development through new skills, equipment, and choices. A unique feature of the game will be the “Correction” mechanic, which will allow players to change the terrain in the midst of battle using a resource called Legend, turning difficult situations around. Decisions made during the story will affect the political direction of the rebellion, relationships among factions, and how the final chronicle of the war will be shaped.
