The director of the Dying Light series, Tymon Smektala, has announced that he is leaving Techland after more than a decade. He shared his decision via his X profile and stated that he is leaving the series in good hands.
"It has been an incredible journey and I am proud of what we have built. Thank you to all the talented people at Techland I have collaborated with, whether through development or publishing, thank you for your passion, energy, and shared ambition in creating Dying Light as the ultimate zombie experience. We did this together! To our wonderful community: your love, engagement, and vocal support have been our guiding star. You have shaped what Dying Light has become."
Smektala started working on Dying Light as a producer of the first game, before moving on to the role of designer for Dying Light 2. He later became the series director and oversaw the development of the latest title (Dying Light: The Beast)
