Because the nineties were the years when we were always playing.

Action RPG Crimson Desert is increasingly being mentioned as one of the key titles that could define a new era for the genre – and now interesting confirmations are coming from within the industry.

Specifically, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, in an interview with Gamesradar stated that games like Crimson Desert and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 remind him of the “golden age” of RPGs from the 90s.

According to him, today’s RPGs are once again offering diversity and freshness – although they belong to the same genre, each brings a completely different gaming experience. This diversity was a key characteristic of older RPG classics, and it seems that the industry is returning to that approach.

Crimson Desert is particularly highlighted, standing out with its freedom of gameplay and focus on gameplay systems rather than solely on the story. This approach further confirms the trend of moving away from the “monotonous” RPG formulas that have dominated in recent years.
