Microsoft has announced the Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Xbox, a special edition console and controller inspired by the original Xbox. The main part of the collection is the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition, the first Xbox Series X console with a transparent design, executed in the recognizable OG Green color that harks back to the brand's beginnings.
The console retains the power and capabilities of the standard Xbox Series X version, including 1 TB of storage, but brings a special visual identity. The front X logo lights up green upon startup, while the casing features details related to the 25th anniversary of Xbox and design references to classic hardware from the early days of the console.
Along with the console, the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition was introduced. The controller also uses a transparent green casing, and its design includes the original ABXY colors and details reminiscent of the first Xbox controller known as Duke. The back and battery cover are completely transparent, revealing the classic Xbox logo underneath.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition and X25 controller will be available together in select markets as a limited collection during November 2026. The Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition will also be sold separately, while Microsoft has not yet announced the price or the exact date for the start of pre-orders.
