Samsung Display has announced the development of the first QD-OLED panel for monitors that simultaneously combines 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 360Hz. This is a 31.5-inch panel intended for premium gaming and professional monitors, and it will be showcased to the public for the first time at COMPUTEX 2026, which will take place from June 2 to June 5, 2026, in Taipei.
According to Samsung Display, existing monitors have generally had to choose between very high resolution and extremely high refresh rates. In other words, 4K monitors often stopped at lower refresh frequencies, while models of 360Hz and above typically used lower resolutions. The new QD-OLED panel is expected to eliminate this compromise thanks to the optimized panel circuitry and improved display management system.
The panel also supports Dual Mode, meaning it can be used in 4K resolution at 360Hz or switched to Full HD mode with refresh rates up to 680Hz. This option is particularly interesting for players of competitive first-person shooters, where response speed and display smoothness are often more important than maximum resolution.
Samsung Display also highlights the DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification, which confirms a high level of HDR display, deep black color, and high brightness for OLED standards. The panel also utilizes a new V-stripe pixel structure designed for better text readability, making it more suitable not only for gaming but also for working with documents, programming, graphics, and content creation.
The company states that it is already in discussions with more than ten global brands about the delivery of the new 31.5-inch 4K 360Hz QD-OLED panel. Mass production is planned for the second half of 2026, which means that the first monitors based on this technology could arrive afterward, depending on the plans of monitor manufacturers.
