FSR 4.1 brings AI upscaling, better image quality, and fewer visual artifacts.

AMD has changed its approach regarding its latest upscaling technology and confirmed that FSR 4.1 will no longer be limited to the Radeon RX 9000 series. According to new information, support for RDNA 3 graphics cards, specifically the Radeon RX 7000 series, will arrive as early as July this year, while owners of RDNA 2 cards, including the Radeon RX 6000 series, will have to wait until the beginning of 2027.

FSR 4.1 brings AI upscaling, better image quality, and fewer visual artifacts, and AMD states that the technology will work in over 300 supported games on RX 7000 cards. Interestingly, AMD had to further adjust the algorithm for older hardware, as RDNA 3 does not have the same AI capabilities as the newer RDNA 4 architecture.
