Berlin will become an important meeting place for RPG game lovers this summer — the Japanese publisher Square Enix is bringing the European community of the popular online hit FINAL FANTASY XIV to a large Fan Festival event. The festival will offer a diverse program that includes presentations, panels, and live concerts, and it will be opened with a keynote featuring new announcements. Visitors can also look forward to an exciting PvP tournament and high-quality cosplay.
The organizers have already released a recap video from the Fan Festival in London that gives a first impression of what fans can expect in Berlin. Such festivals, along with various entertainment formats, are placed alongside major pop culture events like music festivals and well-known conventions, where shared experiences, socializing, and a sense of community are at the forefront.

With over 30 million registered players worldwide, FINAL FANTASY XIV is one of the largest digital communities of our time. For more than a decade, players have used this online RPG not only for entertainment but also as a kind of social space — creating friendships, building communities, and developing rituals that shape their everyday lives. Fan Festivals connect these digital ties with the real world.
The last time the Fan Festival was held in Germany was 2017 in Frankfurt, so the anticipation among European fans is particularly high now that the series is returning to the country.
FINAL FANTASY XIV is part of the legendary franchise FINAL FANTASY, which has won fans around the world since the 1980s. Each title in the series brings its own standalone story that players can experience without prior knowledge of other games.
Details of the program in Berlin will be announced later.
