The cult horror-puzzle classic The 7th Guest is getting a modern makeover – The 7th Guest Remake officially releases on June 4, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, while versions for Switch 2 and Switch will arrive later in the year.
The remake brings a completely revamped experience of the original from 1993, one of the most influential puzzle adventures of its time. The game once again takes players to the eerie mansion of eccentric toy maker Henry Stauf, where six guests are drawn into a dark and mysterious story – and the question “who is the seventh guest?” becomes the focal point of the plot once more.
Modern remake with new technology
The development team Vertigo Games and studio Exkee decided to build the remake from the ground up, using modern technologies such as volumetric video, which allows real actors to appear within the 3D space of the game.
This approach further enhances the atmosphere and horror elements as you explore a mansion full of puzzles, illusions, and hidden secrets. As in the original, the emphasis is on solving increasingly challenging logical tasks while gradually uncovering the story.
