Rockstar Games has acquired the studio Video Games Deluxe and renamed them to the new studio Rockstar Australia. These two studios have had excellent collaboration for many years, as VGD was responsible for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of L.A. Noire and its VR add-on Case Files, and they also participated in the development of GTA: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition.
The head of the new studio will be Brendan McNamara (founder of Team Bondi), who was the director of L.A. Noire. Their original separation occurred in 2011 due to various allegations of problematic business practices, forced overtime, and more, which ultimately led to the closure of Team Bondi.
