dinosaur survival horror focused on stealth

Studio Team Junkfish, known for the Monstrum series, has announced their new game Wilderdark – a first-person stealth survival horror coming to PC via Steam in 2026.

The game's story takes players to an isolated island filled with dangerous life forms, including dinosaurs infected by a mysterious ectoparasitic organism that mutates both animals and plants. Players take on the role of an operative sent on a research mission, where the goal is to document the ecosystem, collect samples, and uncover the fate of previous expeditions – including one related to their family.

Gameplay emphasizes stealth and survival rather than direct combat. Every sound can attract deadly predators, making careful movement, hiding, and resource management crucial. Players will use photography to document discoveries and craft tools to survive in a hostile environment.

A special emphasis is placed on atmosphere and tension – it is an experience where caution and planning are more important than action, as every wrong move can end fatally.

For all interested, a demo version of the game will be available on May 7, 2026, while the full release is planned for 2026.
