The GDQ team is coming to Europe for the first time with three days of Speedrunning.

The humanitarian event dedicated to speedrunning Games Done Quick is making its debut in Europe as part of Gamescom. Gamescom GDQ will present three days of interesting titles that we will watch via YouTube and Twitch channels.

Like their previous events, Gamescom GDQ will feature a curated list of games played by top players from various parts of the world, focusing on skills, community, and the positive impact of gaming. Registrations for this event will start on May 4th via the official website. Since 2010, GDQ has raised over $60 million for various charitable organizations (Doctors Without Borders, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Malala Fund, and Race Forward).

The Gamescom edition will be linked to the initiative Gaming for Democracy, which was created through a partnership between Bertelsmann Stiftung and Stiftung Digitale Spielekultur, aiming to support civic engagement and democratic values through gaming culture.

"We are excited to expand Games Done Quick globally and to bring a live event to Gamescom in Germany. This is an incredible opportunity that means a lot to our team. This partnership not only supports a great initiative but also creates space for even more runners, especially those who cannot visit the USA," said Ashley Farkas, founder of Games Done Quick.

Gamescom Director Tim Endres said: "Speedrunning engages millions of people around the world. That’s why we are even more excited to announce Gamescom GDQ. This is an opportunity for fans from Europe to experience this event live for the first time. At the same time, it shows how significant Gamescom is, not just for the industry and community, but also as a platform for social connections. Games Done Quick and Gamescom are a perfect combination: here it becomes clear what makes gaming special: a sense of community, passion, competition, but also simply the joy of playing games and creatively pushing the boundaries of the rules.
