Independent publisher 312 Interactive and development team LootBag Studios have announced On the Rocks, an unusual blend of survival and bar management arriving in Early Access in 2026 on Steam.
The game's story is set in a harsh post-apocalyptic desert without clean water, where players manage the only functional bar in the area. To survive, they will need to explore a dangerous world, collect toxic liquids, plants, and materials, and then purify and turn them into valuable drinks.
The game combines first-person exploration with complex crafting and management systems. Night brings additional threats, and injuries directly affect survival – reducing maximum health or accelerating dehydration. Returning to the bar means transitioning to another part of the gameplay: managing supplies, prices, equipment, and reputation among guests.
The creators emphasize that On the Rocks is inspired by classics like Fallout and Mad Max, but with a focus on a unique combination of survival mechanics and bar management – a concept rarely seen in games.
On the Rocks promises an engaging gameplay loop where successful bar management enables further expeditions and progress, while each outing into the desert carries the risk of losing resources – or lives.
