Home / News / We played Flotsam.

Flotsam is a charming city-builder with survival elements that moves the entire genre to the open sea. Instead of a classic city, you build a floating settlement from debris, gathering resources and rescuing survivors in a world covered in water.

Visually, the game shines – its colorful, almost "cozy" style and optimistic tone set it apart from typical post-apocalyptic titles. Managing the colony is intuitive, and the systems are well connected, making the expansion of the settlement feel natural and frustration-free.

The gameplay loop (exploration → gathering → building) is very addictive, especially at the beginning. However, after a few hours, a lack of variety and deeper mechanics can be felt, which makes the game lean more towards a relaxed experience than a serious strategic challenge.

Ultimately, Flotsam is a pleasant and original experience that captivates with its atmosphere and idea, but in the long run, it may leave the impression that it lacks content. Ideal for fans of "chill" city-builders.
