Did you think that the pinnacle of agriculture in video games is driving a tractor from point A to point B? Think again. Farm Manager World for PlayStation 5 takes you out of the tractor cabin and places you in the director's chair. This is not a game about picking apples – this is a game about logistics, market changes, and building an empire that spans multiple continents.
DEVELOPMENT AND VERSIONS
Farm Manager World is the latest step from the Polish studio Cleversan Games, known for various simulations. The genre is agricultural simulation, popularized by the much more well-known series Farming Simulator. The PlayStation 5 version was released on March 26, 2026. Although the title suggests a classic land cultivation simulator, this game is actually a complex economic strategy that focuses on business management rather than driving a tractor.
After the relative success of the predecessors of this game (Farm Manager 2018 and 2021), the developers decided to broaden their horizons and release the game on the global market. That’s why they used the suffix world in the video game title. The PC version was released earlier because the PlayStation version had to undergo careful optimization to make complex interfaces easily manageable via the controller.
GAMEPLAY
The main difference between this video game and other agricultural simulators is in the gameplay. We, as players, are not farmers operating machinery, but rather the general director, the owner of a company that owns its own agricultural empire. Our task is to plan the growth of crops, purchase machinery, and hire workers, as well as take care of their morale and salaries. In the starting menu, we already have a large global selection – we choose which continent our farm will be located on. We can choose Europe, Central America, Asia, or Africa. Each choice directly affects the types of plants we can grow, as well as the weather conditions we will face. In the game, we are not limited to just raw materials. We build processing factories, dairies, logistics centers, and simultaneously monitor stock market changes that affect our product.
FARM MANAGER VS FARMING SIMULATOR
The gameplay is in a bird's-eye view, which is one difference compared to Farming Simulator. While Farming Simulator is a simulation of driving and working, Farm Manager World is a simulation of business and supply chain. However, despite the many differences, these games share some common licenses for certain machines and systems.
GRAPHICS
The graphics on PlayStation 5 look top-notch. The textures of the machines are sharp, and the vegetation reacts to weather conditions. The visual representation of plant growth and changes in the landscape through the seasons is particularly emphasized. The music that accompanies us in managing the agricultural empire is relaxing, and the sounds of machines and nature are authentic.
PRICE
The price on the PlayStation Store is 24.99 euros for the standard version. It is primarily available in digital form. The size is only 3.5GB, so the installation finishes almost instantly.
CONCLUSION
The best thing about this video game is the depth of the system and the addictive nature of expanding your business. You will spend hours and hours in the Farm Manager World trying to earn as much as possible. However, it does not come easy at all. Managing complicated menus with the DualSense controller is clumsy compared to a mouse and keyboard. There is always the impression with such video games that they are primarily designed for mouse and keyboard. This video game is an ideal choice for players who enjoy strategies like SimCity or Tropico, but in a different, agricultural environment. However, if you hope that this is a simulation of driving agricultural machines like Farming Simulator, you will be mistaken. If you want to experience just a small part of what it's like to run a successful (or unsuccessful) multinational agricultural corporation, buy this video game. With it, you can turn your living room into the command center of a cutting-edge agricultural empire.
