The set will contain 479 retro charm bricks.

Lego and Sega have announced a new set that brings a touch of retro nostalgia this summer. It is the legendary Sega Genesis console (Mega Drive in Europe) which will have 479 bricks. Lego stated that we will have the option to customize the model that will take the shape of the Genesis or Mega Drive and will also feature detachable controllers and decorative stickers.

The Lego Sega Genesis Console will be released on June 1, 2026, and the price will be 40 euros, with the dimensions of the bricks being 4 cm in height, 6x16 in length, and 12 cm in depth. This is not the first collaboration for Lego and Sega, as they previously released sets based on the popular blue hedgehog Sonic the Hedgehog, and Lego has also had a set based on the console (Nintendo NES) before.

"Like many from my generation, I still remember the launch of the Mega Drive; it was an unreal experience. 27 years later, the love for the console continues to grow, and I still play it. Reconstructing the details and angles of the console with Lego elements was a fun challenge, despite its difficulty," said Patrik, a designer at the Lego group.

Alex Gomez, Vice President of Licensing and Partnerships at Sega America added: "We believe this building experience combines Sega's legacy with the playful creativity of Lego bricks. The Sega Genesis holds a special place in the hearts of gamers and represents a key era in video game history. With this new Lego set, fans can not only relive nostalgic memories but also actively engage with Sega's legacy through creativity.
