KOEI TECMO and Team NINJA have announced a demo for FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE, which will be released on March 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC via Steam, one week before the full game.
The remake of the classic Japanese horror adventure brings back sisters Mio and Mayu Amakura to the cursed Minakami Village, where they will use the legendary Camera Obscura to photograph and fight against ghosts. The release features enhanced graphics and sound, new gameplay elements like Photo Mode, additional stories and locations, and also allows the transfer of save data from the demo version to the full game.
A collaboration with Silent Hill f, the popular psychological horror title from 2025, has also been confirmed, which will include free DLC costumes inspired by the Silent Hill f series available after the game's release.

FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE officially releases on March 12, 2026, on all major platforms – including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and PC – with pre-order options that offer additional bonuses such as a digital soundtrack, artbook, and cosmetic items.
