During this weekend, one of the larger wrestling events Royal Rumble took place, where we learned who will get the chance to challenge Cody Rhodes for the title at WrestleMania. What everyone was also expecting were updates about the upcoming WWE 2K26, and we can confidently say there were many.
We found out that this year's standard edition will feature Phillip Jack Brooks, better known as CM Punk, who is one of the legends of this well-known wrestling brand and a favorite face among all fans. Punk will also be the theme of the showcase mode titled Punked, which will narrate itself and guide us through the most important matches of his career.
This year's game also brings many novelties, including four new match types (I Quit, Inferno, Three Stages of Hell and Dumpster, Intergender Matches), a roster of 400 wrestlers (SmackDown, Raw, NXT, Hall of Fame), new options for creating your own wrestler, and the return of The Island with new locations and missions.
Along with the recently announced special editions, there will also be a Kings of Kings edition featuring Paul "Triple H" Levesque, who was also a wrestler and currently serves as the president of WWE.
WWE 2K26 will be released on March 13 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2, while those who opt for the three special editions with wrestling can start as early as March 6.
