Sanctuary Games has announced strategic RPG Zanerdin: The Unbound which will rely on gacha mechanics, but without microtransactions. The game does not yet have a release date announced, but we know it will be available on PC and PlayStation 5.
Zanerdin: The Unbound is set in Kalatos, a fantastic world forged and protected by the power of six elements (water, fire, earth, metal, wind, and electricity). Every person in this world is born with one of these elements, which determines their strength, social status, and even fate. Zanerdin is a young man born in an age of chaos who embarks on a journey to the Blessed lands to uncover the secret of his family.
This small studio was founded by former Neowiz employee Hyunduk You in April 2025, and Zanerdin: The Unbound is described as: "Although we are an indie team, we do not believe that our story must be of that scale; we also think that gacha gameplay can exist without microtransactions. We are excited to present Zanerdin: The Unbound and the world of Kalatos that combines our ideas and mission to create games that players want."
