CyberConnect2 has announced a new game in the well-known series .hack which will be an action RPG. The team stated that .hack//Z.E.R.O. is being developed for consoles and that it is a project that has been in the works for 10 years, created and developed entirely by them, and will be published with the blessing of Bandai Namco, the owner of the series.
"The .hack series has always been developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, but for .hack//Z.E.R.O. Bandai has given us permission to have complete control from planning to development. This will be our first title that we have independently published." It says in the description on the official page.
The team also added that: "world-renowned violinist Taro Hakase participated in creating the music for this project, which will be an RPG experience in the form of a novel that combines the duality of the fictional and real world and contains 100% spirit of CyberConnect2. We believe that veterans of the series will enjoy the game, but also new players."
The first .hack game was released in 2002 (.hack//Infection) and later expanded into the genres of anime, novels, manga, and animated films.
