Nintendo has announced new official sales results confirming that the Nintendo Switch has reached as many as 155.92 million units sold worldwide, while the Nintendo Switch 2 has surpassed an impressive 19.86 million consoles sold in less than a year.
According to the financial report as of March 31, 2026, an additional 2.49 million units of the Nintendo Switch 2 console were sold during the last quarter, while the original Nintendo Switch achieved another 550 thousand units sold in the same period.
This further solidifies the Nintendo Switch's status as one of the most successful consoles of all time. The console currently ranks among the best-selling gaming systems in the history of the industry, right alongside the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS.
Interestingly, the Nintendo Switch 2 continues its exceptionally strong sales pace. The console became the fastest-selling Nintendo console in the company's history during the first months of availability, and Nintendo expects an additional 16.5 million units sold during the current fiscal year.
Nintendo has also released new data regarding game sales for the Nintendo Switch 2. The current best-selling title on the platform is Mario Kart World with as many as 14.70 million units sold, followed by Donkey Kong Bananza with 4.52 million and Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition with 3.94 million units.
In total, over 48.71 million games have been sold for the Nintendo Switch 2 so far, while the original Nintendo Switch has surpassed an incredible 1.528 billion units of software sold.
As a reminder, Nintendo has also announced a price increase for the Nintendo Switch 2 console and Nintendo Switch Online subscription in several markets due to "changes in market conditions" and rising production costs.
