Toree’s 3D Platformer Collection brings a package of short, retro-inspired 3D platformers that clearly target nostalgia for the Nintendo 64 era and early PlayStation titles. The collection includes four games – Toree 3D, Toree 2, Macbat 64, and Regina & Mac – which offer different gameplay styles and approaches to the genre.
The biggest advantage of the collection is its variety and pace. Each game brings something different – from fast, arcade platforming in Toree 2 to exploration and collection in Regina & Mac. Short levels and quick gameplay create a sense of "just one more round," making the game ideal for shorter gaming sessions.
Visually, the collection intentionally adopts a low-poly aesthetic inspired by the late '90s. Simple graphics, colorful worlds, and a somewhat "unpolished" style are not flaws but part of the identity that evokes the spirit of old 3D platformers and their experimental approach to design.
However, the collection is not without its flaws. The games are very short and content-limited, and the quality varies between titles – some are more fun and better executed, while others feel unfinished or overly ambitious for what they are trying to achieve.
Ultimately, Toree’s 3D Platformer Collection is a charming package that shines in short, relaxed gameplay. It doesn't try to be a big or complex platformer but offers quick, nostalgic fun – ideal for fans of retro games, but with limited long-term content.
