The development studio Pathea Games has revealed new details and trailers for its upcoming game The God Slayer, an open world action RPG set in an Eastern-inspired steampunk metropolis. The game is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam).
In the role of the main hero –_elemental Cheng – the player embarks on a quest for revenge against divine beings known as Celestials, who slaughtered Cheng's family on a night known as “God Fall.” With the help of his elemental powers (fire, water, earth, metal, wood), Cheng must overcome these divine enemies and uncover their tyranny.
The game takes place in the lavish, industrially atmospheric capital of the Zhou Kingdom — a steampunk metropolis filled with airships, steamships, monorails, and various mechanical devices. There is a sharp divide between the rich and the poor, and as Cheng, the player will have to navigate through political intrigues, alliances, and betrayals to get a chance to confront the Celestials.
The combat in The God Slayer promises dynamic interaction of elements — water extinguishes fire, earth can block, and steam can create additional effects — allowing for a creative approach to combat and a strategy of “elemental song.” Even when facing the most powerful opponents, your ability to combine and master the powers will determine the outcome.
Although the official release date has not yet been announced, according to previous statements, we may not see The God Slayer before 2027 or 2028, but it already looks like an ambitious title with high aspirations — combining the mystical, “gods versus man,” and a completely new steampunk-fantasy system.
