After introducing the controversial limit of 100 hours of monthly play at the beginning of 2026, NVIDIA is now making an important change for users of the NVIDIA service GeForce NOW.
Namely, even after reaching the limit, subscribers will still have access to their “Install-to-Play” games, albeit with certain restrictions.
According to the new rules, Performance and Ultimate subscription users still receive 100 hours of “premium” gaming per month. Once that limit is exhausted, the system automatically switches them to the free-tier mode.
This means that players will lose premium benefits such as:
higher resolutions
better performance
longer gaming sessions
But the key difference is that they will no longer lose access to the games they installed via the Install-to-Play option, which was previously the case.
In other words, the games remain available – but with reduced performance until the monthly limit resets or the user purchases additional hours. Additionally, NVIDIA still offers the option to purchase extra time in blocks, as well as the ability to carry over up to 15 unused hours to the next month.
This change comes in response to community criticism, as the original model practically “locked” games after the limit was reached. Now GeForce NOW resembles a hybrid model more – where gaming is never completely blocked, but the premium experience has clear limitations.
For players, this means one thing: cloud gaming remains flexible, but increasingly resembles traditional subscription models with additional charges for more intensive use.
