Xbox has made a somewhat surprising move by announcing that Copilot AI will not be available on Xbox consoles and mobile devices. According to the new head, Ashe Sharma, the significance of the Copilot AI assistant does not align with her vision for the green brand.
This is all quite confusing, as Sharma's previous position was as the president of Microsoft's CoreAI branch, and all the employees who came with her to Xbox worked in that branch. This is also another move by Microsoft to get closer to the audience, as the previous introduction of AI features in Windows and video games had a counterproductive effect.
The Copilot for Gaming project had reached beta testing on PC and mobile devices, but it seems that interest was not high; its function was meant to be like a gaming advisor, a personal trainer that would analyze our matches and take on roles in certain actions during gameplay.
