The co-op roguelite adventure from BugBlio Studio combines fast action, shared decisions, and a constant struggle for survival.

Developers from BugBlio Studio introduced us to their upcoming game LightSup! during an interview, a couch co-op adventure published by Red Dunes Games, which will be released on August 20, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. We also had the opportunity to try out the demo version on PC, which pleasantly surprised us.

LightSup! can be played with one to four players, but it is immediately clear that the game is best when you gather a team. Right from the start, it throws you into chaotic battles against hordes of enemies, where each player takes on the role of a young adventurer with special abilities and their own fighting style. The combat is fast, dynamic, and constantly pushes players to move, while the gameplay remains sufficiently clear. Different builds and combinations of abilities also play a significant role in the game itself.

A particularly interesting part of the gameplay is the Altar of Light system. During the game, the group carries a source of light that preserves the sanity of your characters. Staying within a lit area grants a Virtue buff that enhances your strength, while staying in the dark activates a Fear debuff that gradually drains players and makes combat even more challenging. Because of this, the team must stay together at all times.

After each completed room, players choose which path they want to take next; the path you choose can lead you to Blessing upgrades that enhance the entire team, to special upgrade rooms, or to dangerous Curse effects that change the rules of the game. Interestingly, Blessings and Curses are shared among all team members, so every decision affects the entire team. The randomized map layout further contributes to the feeling that each new session feels different, which will, of course, add replay value to the game itself.

LightSup! features a colorful visual style, while the contrast between light and darkness works excellently with the main gameplay mechanic. The music and sound effects also successfully elevate the intensity of the action, especially during larger conflicts and boss battles.

I can say that after playing the demo version of the game, LightSup! leaves the impression of a very fun multiplayer adventure that could easily find its audience among fans of co-op and roguelite games.
