The best student esports teams from all over Croatia gathered at the LAN finals at Algebra Bernays University, where the winners of the seventh season of the Student Esports Tournament were decided. Valuable prizes provided by the long-term retail partner Links brought special joy to the competitors.
LAN finale gathered a lot of people
The seventh season of the Student Esports Tournament (SET) once again brought together the best student esports teams from all over Croatia, and the peak of the season was held last weekend at the LAN finale in Spark Space at Algebra Bernays University in Zagreb. Over the course of two days, viewers had the opportunity to watch live the top matches in four popular esports disciplines - Counter Strike 2, League of Legends, Rocket League and Valorant, while the players in front of a large audience and with professional production decided on the new champions of the student esports scene.
The finale brought unprecedented drama
Saturday's program brought two big finals. In Counter-Strike 2, viewers had the opportunity to watch one of the most tense matches in the history of the tournament, in which the Technical Polytechnic in Zagreb overpowered the long-time rival Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. Immediately after that, the finals of League of Legends followed, in which the same rivals met again. And this time, TVZ was more successful, which once again confirmed its strength on the student esports scene.
The Sunday program started with the Rocket League finale, which brought special joy to the local audience. The Algebra Bernays University team managed to overcome their rivals from the Technical Polytechnic in Zagreb and the Zagreb Faculty of Economics and lift the trophy on their home turf in front of a crowd of fans.
The grand finale of the weekend concluded with a Valorant clash between FER and FERIT. After several painful defeats during the weekend, FER still managed to win in this discipline and ended the season with the title in Valorant.
TVZ overall winner of the seventh season SET
After adding up the points of all disciplines, the Technical Polytechnic in Zagreb won the overall title of winner of the Student Esports Tournament for the fifth time. The second place went to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, while the third place was won by Algebra Bernays University, which once again placed it at the very top of the student esports scene in Croatia.
