Last Thursday, the creator of Kunio-kun and Double Dragon series Yoshihisa Kishimoto passed away. The unfortunate news was announced by his son through the official X profile and said that he can be contacted freely for more information about the death.
"This is the son of Yoshihisa Kishimoto, the director of Kunio-kun. I am sharing this notice to inform you that my father passed away on April 2nd. Please feel free to contact me for more information about his death. I am deeply grateful to all Kunio-kun fans for their support over the years."
Kishimoto began his career at Data East where he worked on Cobra Commando and Road Blaster, before moving to Technos Japan where he created the Renegade (Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun) and Double Dragon series. In the last few years, he was the director of Double Dragon IV, as well as the assistant director of Stay Cool and Kobayashi-san!: A River City Ransom Story.
