Although the next generation of consoles is expected to bring a huge technological leap, the first technical details suggest that the differences between the PlayStation 6 and Microsoft's Xbox Project Helix may not be as great as previously thought. According to the analysis of technology experts, the difference in performance between these two consoles is unlikely to be decisive for the actual gaming experience.
Estimates say that the new Xbox could have about 25% more computing power (TFLOPS), approximately 33% higher graphics throughput and slightly higher memory bandwidth compared to the PlayStation 6. However, experts point out that such a difference in practice often does not bring a significant change in games.
According to their opinion, both consoles will have very similar functionalities and technological capabilities, so the differences between the game versions could be minimal - for example, a higher resolution or a more stable framerate on one platform.
Some analysts state that in some cases the Xbox could run the game at 60 FPS, while the PlayStation 6 could target 30 FPS in the same scenario, but the final results will depend primarily on the developer's optimization.
The next generation of consoles is expected around 2027 at the earliest, when Sony and Microsoft will once again face each other in a new technological race to dominate the gaming market.
