For years we have witnessed the absurdity of the list of games found on the PS Store. Indeed, there was everything, from quality titles to those that make us wonder is this even a game? It seems that the bad joke has come to an end. Sony took matters into their own hands and started cleaning up the so-called AI pile from their digital shelves.

Note that this is not about indie studios trying to push an original idea. According to information from the portal Delisted Games, the entire studio catalogs were literally swept from the platform; Thigamesa, Nostra Gamesa and CGI Laba. They literally stamped the titles as if on tape, flooding the store with thousands of visually identical 'games'. It is estimated that over 1,000 such titles were removed in this wave. Fans on social networks, led by trophy hunters, were the first to notice the disappearance of these titles, speculating about a systematic purge of those abusing the Platinum trophy system.

I find this bragging rights mentality that has been created around a digital trophy won in a software dump fascinating. This is probably just the tip of the iceberg, and it remains to be seen which studio will feel Sony's broom next. The PlayStation Store will finally expand; in the gaming industry today we need quality, not quantity of pointless clicks
