Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the shutdown of the multiplayer shooter Firewall Ultra, which has already been removed from the PlayStation Store without prior notice. It is a PS5 and PSVR2 exclusive, the sequel to Firewall: Zero Hour, whose online elements will be shut down on September 17, 2026. After that date, the game will become completely unplayable, which means that players have about six months left to complete the content and unlock trophies. Unlike its predecessor, which achieved solid reviews, Firewall Ultra did not meet expectations. The game received an average score of 62/100 on Metacritic, significantly lower than Zero Hour's 79/100. Although it was billed as "the next evolution of the Firewall franchise", it seems to have failed to hold the interest of players, which ultimately led to the decision to shut down.
