Sony and Honda have decided to suspend the development and launch of the Afeel 1. As late as last year, the project seemed to be progressing, and it was already announced that deliveries would begin in California in 2026. But things have changed. Sony Honda Mobility Inc. announced on its blog that the decision came after Honda reviewed its vehicle electrification strategy earlier this month. As a result, Sony Honda Mobility no longer has access to certain technologies and assets that they planned to use, which ultimately made it impossible to continue the project in its original form. However, this does not mean the end of the company itself. Sony and Honda continue to discuss future business plans. Meanwhile, anyone who booked Afeela 1 in California will receive a full refund.
