This year, PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary, commemorating the launch of the original console in Japan in December 1994. Over three decades, PlayStation has become synonymous with cutting-edge entertainment and innovation in the world of video games.
To celebrate this significant anniversary, Sony has prepared a series of exclusive content and events for its loyal gamers. The celebration starts already this month, and includes digital music from iconic PlayStation games, themed toys and other exclusive content.
One of the most exciting events is the free online multiplayer weekend that will take place on September 21st and 22nd. During that weekend, all PS4 and PS5 players will be able to play online without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription. Also, esports tournaments will be organized for popular titles such as NBA 2K24, Madden NFL 24, Tekken 8 and Guilty Gear Strive, with special prizes for participants.

In addition, PlayStation, in collaboration with Sony Music, will release music from legendary games such as God of War, Twisted Metal and Starhawk every month. This music will be available on platforms like Spotify, Amazon Music and Apple Music.
PlayStation is also preparing a free trial version of Gran Turismo 7 called My First GT for all PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players during the holidays. This version of the game will feature selected but popular cars, tracks and races.

For all collectibles lovers, a new collection of products called “Shapes of Play” will be launched in December, which includes board games, magnetic blocks for creative stacking and products for relaxing between gaming sessions.
