It's been two years since Naughty Dog announced the end of production on The Last of Us Online. Today the former director of the game, Vinit Agarwal, revealed details that probably won't sit well with fans of the series.
In fact, the studio reached a point where they had to make a decision: continue to pursue this ambitious multiplayer title or focus completely on a new big project; Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Personally, I was a big fan of Factions from the first part. From the atmosphere to the presentation itself, the game was superb, so this news only adds salt to old wounds. It is particularly interesting that everything points to the fact that the canceled game would probably be Extraction Shooter, which is gaining a lot of popularity today. Given the elements and the brutal world of the series, this will long remain one of those great "what if" moments in the industry.
