Microsoft yesterday, to everyone's surprise, announced Project Helix, which is the code name of the next Xbox console. As they confirmed Project Helix will run games from previous Xbox consoles, but also those from PC. It has been rumored for a long time that Microsoft is preparing a console with Windows.
The only thing that is still unknown is if the games from the previous systems will run on Windows or if they will have a separate system to run. It is also possible to see that Project Helix comes with a new logo and if proven to be true it will be the second time for Microsoft to change its logo in 25 years, previously it happened with the transition from the original Xbox to the Xbox 360.
Project Helix should get more information next week as part of the Game Developer's Conference, which will take place from March 9 to 13 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
