Daybreak Game Company and Game Jawn studio have announced EverQuest Legends, a new version of the cult MMORPG coming to PC in July 2026. Before the release, a closed beta test is planned in April, for which registrations are already open.
EverQuest Legends represents a sort of return to the roots of the series, bringing the early days of the world of Norrath with renewed visuals and sound, but also a number of modern improvements that should make the game more accessible to new and returning players.
Unlike classic MMORPGs, this title is specifically designed for solo and casual play. Although it will be possible to play in groups of up to four players and participate in raids for up to eight players, the entire game can also be played independently.
One of the more interesting novelties is the character system that allows you to combine up to three different classes at the same time, which opens up a large number of combinations and playing styles. In addition, the game brings improved equipment upgrade systems and greater flexibility in character development.
At launch, EverQuest Legends will feature the continent of Antonica in its earlier version (before the Kunark expansion), along with all the classic races and the distinctive visual style of the original game, including zones, effects, loot and music.
EverQuest, originally released back in 1999, is considered one of the most important MMORPGs in history, and this new project tries to combine nostalgia with a modern approach to gaming.
If it manages to find the right balance between old and new, EverQuest Legends could attract both series veterans and a whole new generation of players.
