Gameplay Group and PM Studios have announced a release date for the fighting title Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game. This colorful game set in the world of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender is released 2. July for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. PlayStation 4, which was supposed to be among the available consoles, also disappeared from the announcement.
Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is a game whose roots are focused on mastering the elements of nature and is designed for new players as well as veterans and contains the spirit of previous fighting games, but also brings something new in terms of movement, style and combat expressiveness. Built with a focus on fluidity, responsiveness and online integrity, it invites players to discover exactly what it means to fight for what matters. Hand-drawn 2D backgrounds and characters were created with the intention of bringing the spirit of the animated series to the game.
"For us, this is about bringing a fighting game that players will love from day one. Avatar is the perfect model for the genre - with mobility, mastery and expressiveness at its core. We've built a system that's focused on responsiveness, depth and competitive gameplay. With PM Studios as our partner, we're excited to bring that video game experience to the community and fans around the world." Said the founder of Gameplay Group Victor Lugo.
PM Studios Head Michael Yum added: "The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is one that fans have connected with for decades - it's that passion that brought us to this project. The opportunity to help bring Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game to players and support a team that understands what makes this world special is something that makes us excited to be a part of the whole story.
