Ubisoft and Unsolved Hunts have presented Gold & Crystal – The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway, a new global treasure hunt inspired by the world of the game Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
On the occasion of the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft has teamed up with the French startup Unsolved Hunts, a specialist in organizing treasure hunts, to offer players around the world the chance to win a prize worth $500,000. The treasure will be hidden somewhere in the Caribbean.
Players can already pre-order access to the hunt via the official website goldandcrystal.com, for a price of €34.99. The hunt officially begins on November 9, 2026.
Gold & Crystal is designed as an immersive adventure set in the golden age of piracy. Participants will need to decipher multiple elements, including a coded message in a bottle, a map of the Caribbean, and a collection of letters and archival documents with a total of 15 puzzles. All puzzles are related to references from Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, but prior knowledge of the game is not required to participate.
The hunt can be fully solved remotely, from anywhere in the world. Solving the puzzles will gradually lead players to the location of a chest buried somewhere in the Caribbean. Organizers expect the hunt to last between two and five years.
The first player to discover the exact location will have the opportunity to travel to the Caribbean, dig up the chest, and win treasure worth $500,000. The prize includes authentic pirate treasure: a crystal skull, a replica of the famous skull from the game, crafted by French lapidary master Hervé Obligi, and a chest filled with gold coins featuring the Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced logo. The gold coins are made with the help of AuCOFFRE, a company specializing in precious metal trading.
