Two years after its infamous release, Payday 3 is still struggling with issues, and now it has been confirmed that the promised offline mode will not happen. Starbreeze has admitted that the option is simply unfeasible, despite having promised it to fans as early as the beginning of 2024.
“The team tried to find a way for offline to work, but the reality is different – we have too few people and we need to focus on the core mechanics of the game and progression. Additionally, offline would further slow us down in creating updates,” said Jonas Skantz from Starbreeze.
And while developers continue to push out new patches and content, the community has been left disappointed, as offline was one of the few demands that many insisted on. In the meantime, Payday 2 remains the main refuge of the series, with offline support and a far larger player base than the sequel currently has.
