Square Enix has announced that development on the mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing Link has been canceled. It was announced in 2022 as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the series and has since undergone many closed beta tests.
"We have made the decision to cancel Kingdom Hearts Missing Link, and we want to express our deep apologies to everyone who was eagerly awaiting this game. Although we worked hard on it in hopes that many players would enjoy playing, we found it would be difficult for us to offer a service that would be satisfactory for players in the long term."
"We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported us and helped during the testing phases. We are sorry that this has happened!"
Kingdom Hearts Missing Link was supposed to be available on Android and iOS devices and was described as a GPS action RPG (similar to Pokemon GO and Monster Hunter Now).
The team also shared the information that the Kingdom Hearts series will continue and that their focus is on developing Kingdom Hearts IV.
