Neverness to Everness is clearly not just another anime gacha project that will live off trailers and Twitter hype for a few weeks. The new open-world JRPG from Perfect World Games launched brutally strong right at release, earning over 14 million dollars on its first day.
According to information shared by the publisher with its shareholders, NTE surpassed the 100 million Chinese yuan mark, or about 14.6 million US dollars, in less than 24 hours. It is not entirely clear whether this figure includes the Chinese version of the game, but the result is still more than impressive for a new IP in the overcrowded gacha market.
The largest portion of revenue comes from Japan and the USA, while South Korea, according to the publisher, exceeded internal expectations. Interestingly, around 75% of total earnings come from the PC and PlayStation 5 versions, indicating that players clearly want a more serious experience than the typical mobile gacha model.
Perfect World Games also claims that players are currently spending more time exploring Hethereau than fighting, which has clearly surprised the developers. Because of this, the studio is considering additional premium content focused on the urban lifestyle aspect of the game — including new outfits, apartments, and cars.
On the PlayStation Store, the game currently holds a rating of 4.26, with over 12 thousand votes. A good sign for a strong start.
Of course, not everything is perfect. The developers have confirmed that they are actively monitoring community feedback and that versions 1.1 and 1.2 will bring performance improvements, optimizations, and a better experience. The plan is to further enhance gameplay and retain players in the long term, which will be crucial if NTE wants to remain relevant even after the initial hype wave. Genshin has proven to everyone how to position oneself to stay relevant, loved by players, and earn a lot of money in the process.
