At the end of May, Opatija will host a new Kvarner festival of contemporary popular culture that combines two events - Expo Gameri 2025 and Slowmotion Festival & Conference. During the extended holiday weekend from June 29 to June 1, 2025, the spaces of the Marino Cvetković Sports Hall, Gervais Center, and Drago Club will become the center of the gaming world, new technologies, film, and music, bringing a fun and educational two-day program intended for all ages.
Visitors can expect a rich program that will include:
- Gaming zone with the latest video games, powerful computers and consoles, and exciting esports competitions
- Croatian video game producers zone where local video game producers will showcase their latest games
- Latest VR technologies zone in video games
- International publishers and producers zone of games from partner countries
- Cosplay competition gathering pop culture enthusiasts, costume designers, with their favorite characters from video games, movies, and animated films
- Retro zone with legendary retro games and consoles for a nostalgic journey into the (not so distant) past
- Panels, presentations, discussions, and workshops for a wide audience with leading experts from the video game industry

Expo Gameri is organized by the marketing agency Rivira and the “3. zmaj” Association from Rijeka with the support of the City of Opatija, Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Croatian Tourist Board and numerous sponsors.
