Veritas Tales: Witch of the Dark Castle has been announced, a neo-classical digital gamebook RPG coming to PC via Steam on July 9, 2026, with support for English, Japanese, and Chinese languages.
The game is developed by Digitalis Publishing and 15 Industry, and it aims to modernize classic “choose your own adventure” gamebooks by combining narrative choices with dice rolling that directly affects the outcome of the adventure.
The story is set in a dark fantasy capital struck by plague, where players choose between two protagonists – the warrior Havelock or the sorceress Paneri – and explore the mysterious Dark Castle and its witch from their perspective.
The game will feature over 300 hand-drawn illustrations created by veteran Yoshio Nishimura, with a strong emphasis on player decisions – one wrong move can mean instant death, while luck and dice rolling often play a key role in survival.
Veritas Tales thus targets fans of classic gamebooks and narrative RPGs, delivering a nostalgic experience with a modern digital approach.
