Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have released a new video celebrating 20 years of the Yakuza/ Like a Dragon series. On this day, the first title was released in 2005 for PlayStation 2. Following it, there were eight more sequels, a couple of remakes and remasters, and many spin-off titles.
The series also received a film adaptation in Japan and the series Like a Dragon: Yakuza from 2024, which is available on the streaming service Amazon Prime. The latest release in the series will be Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Tides, coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch on February 12, 2026.
The celebratory video follows the career of a young man whose life is filled with quotes from the main character Kazuma Kiryu.
