Winter holidays are coming to World of Tanks with the launch of Holiday Operations 2026, which run from December 5, 2025, to January 12, 2026. The holiday spirit shines brighter than ever this year under the impeccable guidance of world-renowned actor Benedict Cumberbatch, whose distinctive mind, wit, and subtle humor add to the action.
At the start of the event, players will be transported to a dazzling holiday village where cozy snowy scenes during the day give way to a twilight sky lit up with holiday lights, lanterns, and fireworks. Upon entering, players will receive their first holiday gift: the Strv M/31, a Swedish light tank of tier III with a fully trained crew and a spot in the Garage. Players in the holiday village can also find an advent calendar where opening each door unlocks new gifts and surprises.
In the village headquarters, our holiday ambassador Benedict Cumberbatch welcomes players, gives them special tasks, offers wise advice, and shares inspiring stories. Completing his tasks rewards tankers with his signature customization elements, including two standout 2D styles, custom decals, and themed inscriptions.
The centerpiece of the event, the Holiday Operations Challenge, features 56 tasks that offer players great in-game rewards, including Mr. Cumberbatch as a tank commander—a calm, strategic tactician whose voice guides more than commands. Players can also earn unique decals and inscriptions that reflect his commanding mindset, a beautiful 2D style, a determined military-inspired look, and Benedict's collectibles, a set of collectible 3D attachments.
And then the celebration goes to a new level. From December 11 to 22, the beloved magical tanks return in the cheerful and fast-paced mode Winter Assault. This year, the event takes place on two new maps. One transports players to a distant universe filled with stars and planets, while the other turns a gift factory into a holiday combat arena. In Winter Assault, three teams of five players compete to collect and deliver gifts to their bases. Each commander takes charge of a unique tank with their own role and special abilities. In each battle, players will earn points that can be exchanged for bonds or exclusive 3D attachments.
