The indie project by Czech author Petr Najman, Ancient Shadows: Awakening will be a dark 3D dungeon RPG experience that will combine the best elements from classic dungeon adventures — but with modern gameplay mechanics and improvements.
The game will be set in a forgotten underground world full of traps, puzzles, monsters, and magic. Players will explore handcrafted levels, collect weapons and gear, progress through skills, and uncover fragments of long-lost history.
Gameplay will feature real-time combat in full 3D, where reflexes and tactical positioning will be crucial for survival — every encounter with an enemy and every step through the ruins could be the last. Also, besides enemies, players can die from poison, hunger, and thirst!
Judging by the gameplay trailer, genre enthusiasts will more than enjoy this game when it releases in 2026. We will definitely keep a close eye on its further development.
